Monmouthshire Libraries were awarded over £210,000 by CyMAL (Museums Archives and Libraries: Wales, a division of the Welsh Assembly Government) and, with matched funding from Monmouthshire County Council, the library has been refurbished and updated.

About the library
Monmouth Library is situated in the Victorian Rolls Hall which was originally given to the people of Monmouth for use as a lecture hall and theatre by the Rolls Family in 1888.
In addition to books (in both normal and large print), the library stocks films on DVD, books on tape and CD, and a wide range of newspapers and magazines. We receive the Times, Guardian, Telegraph, Western Mail and Daily Mail daily, and the Monmouthshire Beacon, Forest of Dean and Wye Valley Review and Times Educational Supplement weekly.
The range of magazines we stock includes Which?, New Scientist, Private Eye, Empire, House Beautiful and Gardeners World and many more titles. For Teenagers we stock the NME, Mizz, Match and Buzz, the South Wales entertainment guide. For children (of all ages) we stock The Beano, Dandy, First News and the new comic The DFC.
